About Jim Rapoport

Jim joined the RE/MAX ONE team in 2015 in order to pursue his passion for real estate and put his tireless work ethic to good use helping clients reach their real estate goals.
Before Jim became a REALTOR®, he attended Stanford University on a baseball scholarship. After his junior season, Jim was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and elected to sign a professional contract with the team and forgo his senior season at Stanford. Taking his commitment as a true student/athlete seriously, Jim returned to Stanford during the offseason to earn his degree. Through countless hours of practice combined with fierce determination, Jim was able to play six seasons in the minor leagues for the Cardinals, knocking on the door to the Big Leagues during his two seasons in Triple A.
Faced with the question of whether or not to continue playing, Jim decided to call it a career and enjoy being at home in Oak Park with his wife Michelle (and later his sons Luke and Colin) for more than 4 months at a time.
The next phase of life brought Jim to PennyMac Capital Management where he worked for 2 years, first in Capital Markets operations providing support to the correspondent loan trading desk and then onto the Non-Agency mortgage trading desk dealing mostly with non-performing loan portfolios and jumbo loan pricing/trading. Working in the mortgage financing world gave Jim much insight into what it takes to secure a loan but left him wanting to be able to see and feel the property that was being secured as well as establish lasting relationships with the parties involved with the transaction. The transition to becoming a REALTOR® felt like the natural progression for Jim's career and he is looking forward to helping many clients fulfill their real estate dreams for years to come.
